Carling is fantastic. She provides clear, actionable advice with a kind demeanor. In addition to helping our little be the best little eater she can be, she also helps us feel supportive and successful even when we are facing parenting challenges.” -M

Hi, I’m Carling (she/her).

Calm, patient, and compassionate, I draw on 20 years of caregiving experience and 10 years working in reproductive healthcare, to help my clients build confidence, have the most up-to-date information, and feel validated in their experience. As an IBCLC, I provide non-judgemental support, evidence-based care, and prioritize my clients’ goals and wishes. I honor that each person’s experiences are unique and access to support and supplies varies. My personable, caring, and inclusive approach makes me an invaluable addition to your care team.

I’ve been in Baltimore for 10 years and really value the community I’ve connected with here. People are making meaningful and impactful change in this city and it’s an honor to work alongside some of them. Getting to know other providers who share similar values as me is important so that I can connect my clients to quality and warmhearted care. During my time in Baltimore I have been active with the Baltimore Doula Project and SURJ.

Beyond lactation work, I am a solo parent to an active and outgoing toddler. I like camping, hiking, rock climbing, gardening, and being with my friends. I find happiness in sharing meals, working on house projects, cuddling with animals, and dreaming of off-grid living.

My Values

  • Inclusive Care. I value the full spectrum of identities and experiences. I appreciate your uniqueness and I bring no assumptions about who you are, where you come from, and what you’ve been through. I provide care without judgement.

  • Proud To Be Queer. I’m a queer woman and I love working with queer and LGBTQI+ clients. I can help identify queer and trans affirming providers, practitioners, and other resources.

  • Anti-Racist. I am actively committed to learning about, identifying and and fighting against racism.

  • Pro-Abortion. Abortion is healthcare and I support the right to choose abortion.

  • Reproductive Justice for All. All humans have the right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities (SisterSong).

Who I Serve

I welcome partnered, poly, and solo parents of all races, ethnicities, socio-economic statuses, of all abilities, and of all religions and spiritualities. I welcome people who are LGBTQIA+, neurodivegent, have mental health conditions, have a history of trauma, and use drugs. I work with folks of all ages.
